GENERAL INFORMATION

1. HOW TO REACH THE SHRINE

Coming by S.T. Bus: Alight at the Nashik Bus stand (MAHAMARG at Mumbai Naka) or CBS (Central Bus Station, Nashik City). Take a Rickshaw and ask for the "Shrine of the Infant Jesus" / "St. Xavier's School" / Bal Yeshu Prathana Mandir / Nehru Nagar, Nashik Road (Rs. 50-60) Agree with the Rickshaw man before-hand about the fare. Coming by train: Alight at Nashik Road Station. Take a Rickshaw. Ask for the same address (Rs. 40-50) Agree with the Rickshaw-man before-hand. Shared Rickshaws are available (Rs. 8/- per head), also Local Buses (Get down at Nehru Nagar Stop (before Shrine) or Upanagar Stop (after passing Shrine).

2. PILGRIMS' REST HOUSE

Lodging is available in the Pilgrim Rest House - for two days (48 hours) only, for "Pilgrims" to the Shrine.

Good and Wholesome Food at reasonable rates is supplied by the Shrine Caterer, Mr. Andrew D'Souza. Please contact him on arrival and specify your needs for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. His Mobile No: 9420228243

Preference is given to families on pilgrimage to the Shrine. Single persons (man or woman) cannot be provided rooms. 

No bookings in advance, please. Rooms are allotted on First come, First served basis. Preference is given to those traveling by public conveyance. Rooms are allotted between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. when the Caretaker is on duty.

Pilgrims arriving after 6.00 p.m. may enquire from Fr. Alex Colaco if rooms are still available, and if rooms are NOT available, pilgrims may spend the night in the Common Hall of the Rest House, free of cost.

Good accomodation is also available in small Private Guest Houses - in the vicinity of the Shrine at all hours of the day or night.

The Shrine of the Infant Jesus has plans to construct good self-contained Family Pilgrim Rooms in the near future. Your prayers for the successful completion of the project are requested.

The Rest House remains closed:

From 24th December to 26th December inclusive - a Christmas break for the Shrine Workers.

From Wednesday of Holy Week to Easter Sunday inclusive.

From Wednesday 15th February 2012 till Tuesday 21st February 2012 inclusive during the Annual Feast in honour of the Infant Jesus scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, 18th-19th February 2012.  WELCOME - ROOMS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM WEDNESDAY, 22ND FEBRUARY 2012.

During this time the entire Rest House is used to accomodate the numerous Volunteers who assist the Shrine in the smooth conduct of the Annual Feast.

Note: Pilgrims may also find suitable accommodation at reasonable rates close to the Shrine in the following Hotels: Darshan, Raj, Pawan, Avanti, all next to the Nashik Railway Station. For better Hotels, you may check at Shalom Guest House or Durga International Hotel or Hotel The Landmark. Private guest rooms (of Mrs. Miranda) are also available close to the Shrine.

 3.  MASSES

Daily at : 6:30 a.m. 12:00 noon 6:00 p.m.

On Second Thursday of the month the 6:00 p.m. Mass is in Marathi

Sunday : 6:30 a.m. 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m.

4. WEEKLY INTERCESSORY PRAYER & NOVENA MASS

Every Thursday of the year at 5:30 p.m. there will be an intercessory prayer service with Benediction followed by Novena Mass.

Everyday throughout the year, for the convenience of pilgrims desiring to return home on the same day, we have a Novena Mass at 12:00 noon. This Mass is offered for the intentions of all our pilgrims, Devotees, Friends and Benefactors.

6. ANNUAL SOLEMN CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF THE INFANT JESUS

                                                                                       ON THE THIRD SATURDAY OF FEBRUARY.

- The next Feast is scheduled for SATURDAY, 16TH FEBRUARY 2013.

The Annual Solemn Feast Celebration: Masses are held on the grounds every hour from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. inclusive.

During the nine days preceding the Annual Feast, Solemn Novena Masses are conducted:

In English at 6:30 a.m. 12:00 noon and 5:45 p.m. and in Marathi at 11:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m.

7.  MASS OFFERINGS

Check at the Mass-offering Counter inside the Shrine. Kindly, follow the instruction printed on the envelopes kept on the counter. Drop the envelopes "Personally" in the box.

8. PETITIONS AND REQUEST TO THE INFANT JESUS

Check at the Petition Counter in the Shrine. Fill the petition slips kept on the counter and drop them in the box.

9. "LOVE OFFERINGS" TO THE INFANT JESUS

a)     You may do them by the Cheque / D.D. / M.O.

Those residing in India: or sending the amount in Indian Currency on an Indian Bank: in favour of

"SHRINE OF THE INFANT JESUS", payable at Nashik.

Those residing outside India: and sending the amount in foreign currency:  in favour of "THE BOMBAY XAVERIAN CORPORATION", payable at Mumbai. Post them to the Shrine's address.

b)    You may make them in Cash : at the Offering counter inside the Shrine, next to the image of the Infant Jesus. You may use envelopes that are kept on the counter. Drop the envelopes "Personally" in the box.

c)        If you wish to secure a receipt, either make your offerings in the Asst. Chaplain's office of Fr. Rudy Fernandez, S.J., or at the Enquiry Office Counter (attended by Mrs. Fatime D'Silva) just outside the Shrine. For this: Ask for the "Donation Register". Fill one slot in your own handwriting. Write: Name, address and amount given. Affix your signature. Ask for receipt.

10. DONATIONS OF ARTICLES

Donation of Articles is not recommended. However Pilgrims in devotion do offer Ornaments, cloth, liturgical items, etc..... You may offer them in the Chaplain's or Asst. Chaplain's Office.

If they are not available, offer them at the Inquiry Office Counter outside the Shrine. For this : Ask for the "Donation Register". Fill one slot in your own handwriting: Write: Name, address and the description of the article offere. Affix your signature. If you wish to secure a receipt, request the person on duty.

11. FOR PERSONAL MATTERS: CONFESSIONS AND GUIDANCE

Meet the Chaplain or the Assistant Chaplains in their offices, if they are not in the office, call for them. Fr. Cedric Rebello, S.J. is always available for Spiritual Guidance, Confessions, Counselling. Inform the Security on duty to call Fr. Cedric.
